President and Vice Chairperson Ed is currently the President and Vice-Chairperson of the Board of the Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement (PRRM). He also serves as Chairperson of the Board for both the Education for Life Foundation/Fellowship (ELF) and Global Mindanaw Polytechnic Inc. (GMPI). In addition, he is a member of the Standing Committee on TVET and Lifelong Learning under EDCOM 2 – the Second Congressional Commission on Education. His other affiliations include being part of the National Advisory Council of the National TVET Training Academy, an Eminent Fellow of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), and National Adviser to the League of Organic Municipalities, Cities and Provinces (LOAMCP). He is also a mentor at the Galing Pook Foundation (GPF) and a permanent member of the Foundation for the Philippine Environment (FPE). Ed dela Torre has long been engaged in the fields of sustainable rural development, participatory local governance, popular education and lifelong learning, and grassroots community leadership formation. He primarily works with civil society organizations but has also held key roles in government. He served as Director-General of TESDA from 1998 to 2001, and later worked as a consultant to the Administrator of the National Electrification Administration and the Presidential Adviser on Rural Electrification from 2002 to 2009. He was part of the Secretary’s Technical Advisory Group of the Department of Agriculture from 2010 to 2016, and served on the governing board of the Philippine Coconut Authority from 2014 to 2020. |
