Summer 2009 Student Interns

Six (6) student interns from different Philippine universities were accepted into the PRRM Internship Program from April to May 2009. Specific tasks were assigned to the interns depending on their fields of specialization and capabilities.

Bernice P. Buenafe (BA Political Science), Juzzelyx B. Sulit (BA Political Science) and Danzel Mari S. Madayag (AB Sociology) of the University of Santo Tomas were assigned to the Advocacy and Development Cooperation Office (ADCO). Edward Raymund G. Cuerdo (BA Journalism) of the University of the Philippines in Diliman worked with the Office of the President on PRRM’s Eco-tourism Program. Jed Dacara (AB Sociology) of the University of the Philippines in Los Baños rendered his summer internship in the PRRM Cavite branch under the Community-Based Coastal Resource Management Program.

The PRRM Internship Program continues to provide opportunities for students to integrate development work into their academic discipline. It serves as a venue for exchange of experiences among the student interns, the development workers and the host community where they live and work.
