PRRM holds National Council meeting to elect new Board of Trustees

Representatives of 18 PRRM provincial and city chapters across the nation stood for PRRM’s 300 plus members in the National Council (NC) meeting held last July 15 at the PRRM Building in Quezon City.

Emceed by PRRM Vice Chairperson and Trustee Edicio dela Torre, the NC meeting affirmed the resolutions made by the Board of Trustees (BoT) in the past year. The NC also discussed local and national issues and opportunities for development programs in partnership with private institutions and public agencies.

In preparation for the election of a new BoT, the NC meeting included the presentation of the new nominees for Trustees, some of who were present such as Mr. Jose Santiago “Chito” Sta. Romana, former ABC News Beijing Bureau Chief; Architect Felino Palafox, Jr., Managing Partner of Palafox Associates; and Dr. Francisco Benitez, President of the Philippine Women’s University.

Each of the NC members which include the incumbent trustees cast his/her ballot. Dr. Sharon Taylor, Assistant Director of the Conrado Benitez Institute for Sustainability (CBIS) headed the Election Committee which consolidated and presented the election results.

Newly elected by the NC into the current BoT are Mr. Sta Romana; Ifugao Representative Congressman Teodoro Baguilat, Jr.; Ms. Rebecca Miranda, President of the Daluyong women’s federation; and representatives of the PRRM chapters in Bataan, Camarines Sur, Cotabato and Quezon.
