A highlight of the opening program was the cheer dance of PRRM staff. Donning pompoms and clad in PRRM green, the pep squad named ANTICHICHIRIA gyrated, jumped, twisted and shook with the lively music to the delight of the audience.

Two basketball games were played on the opening day, first between CPI and Haribon, the second between PRRM and WVDF.
The tall CPI line-up beat the undermanned Haribon, 50-42. CPI was ahead all throughout the game, leading by as much as 18 points. In the last four minutes of the last quarter, a 10-0 run by Haribon closed the gap to just 8. Fatigue got the best of Haribon in the closing minutes, unable to edge the still strong CPI.
In the second game, consistent defense and quick offense won the game for PRRM against WVDF. PRRM playing coach Patrick San Juan fielded a smaller but quick line-up most of the game against the bigger line-up of WVDF. PRRM led throughout the game by as high as 20 points at the close of the 3rd quarter, getting most of its score from fast offense in transition. The final score was 63-53.
This early, the initiative of the PRRM can be called a big success based on the overwhelming response of participating organizations on the opening day. Competitions will run for five weeks, with the closing program slated on July 10, 2012.
