Washington Z. Sycip

Mr. Sycip founded the Sycip, Gorres and Velayo Group, a firm of Auditors and Management Consultants with operations throughout East Asia. At present, he is the Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Trustees and Board of Governors, Asian Institute of Management, Philippines. He also serves as the Chairman, Board of Trustees of Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation. He is a member of the Board of Overseers of the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Eisenhower Exchange Fellowship and a part of the International Advisory Board of the Council on Foreign Relations and International Advisory Board of the American International Group in New York. He served on the Board of Directors of a number of major corporations in Asia and an Honorary Life Trustee of the Asia Society.

Mr. Sycip was the Chairman of the Asia Pacific Advisory Committee of the New York Stock Exchange from 1997 to 2004 and also the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Conference Board in New York. He served as Chairman of Euro-Asia Centre, INSEAD, Fontainebleu in France from 1981 to 1988 and as the President of the International Federation of Accounts from 1982 until 1985. He was also on the International Advisory Boards of AT&T, Australia & New Zealand Bank, Caterpillar, The Chase Manhattan Bank (1984-1990), Owens-Illinois, Pacific Dunlop and United Technologies Corporation.

Washington Z. Sycip holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines and a Master’s degree in Science in Commerce from the Columbia University, New York.
