Librado B. Abesamis

Mr. Librado B. Abesamis is the current chairman of the Camiguin chapter of PRRM. He is a CPA by profession and was a former rural banker before he went into politics. He is currently on his last term as municipal Kagawad of Catarman, one of the five municipalities in the island province of Camiguin.

As a banker, he held the position of General Manager of the Cooperative Bank of Camiguin from 1989 to 1998. Through these years, he helped the bank become one of the most profitable rural/coop banks in Northern Mindanao. He was also the President of Bangkoop –Manila from 1996 to 1998. It was during his stint at the Bangkoop when he was elected as Vice President of the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines (RBAP).

Upon retirement from banking in 1998, he pursued his political career, ran as Barangay Chairman and won in Bonbon, Catarman, his birthplace. In 2004, he ran and won as member of the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) in Catarman. He currently serves as the president of the Provincial Councilors League (PCL) making him an ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan. He is also the regional chairperson of the PLC region 10 and a member of the PCL National Board.
