Chairman of KALIKASAN-NE, and the Pambansang Samahan ng mga Magsasaka sa Likas-Kayang Pananakahan (SAKAHAN), a federation of farmers for sustainable agriculture. KALIKASAN-NE was founded by 64 farmers and aims at developing sustainable rice-based organic agriculture. Its activities include the provision of technical assistance, the training of new members and making inputs such as chicken manure and rice seedlings available to farmers. This has resulted in a considerable reduction in production costs and an increase in the net income of farmer cooperators.
He also serves as the vice-chairman of the Kooperatibang Likas ng Nueva Ecija (KOOL-NE), which was established as a primary cooperative in May 2002 as a joint venture of KALIKASAN-NE and the PRRM to support sustainable rice production and marketing. Designed as a “corporative”, KOOL NE is essentially a cooperative owned by its members but professionally supervised by a corporate management team of professional social entrepreneurs.
He received a Certificate in Elementary Education in 1976 from Tayabo Elementary School in Tayabo, San Jose City, Nueva Ecija and a Diploma in Secondary Education in 1981 from Potia Agricultural High School in Potia, Ifugao.
